A to Z Day 1: Ode to the letter A

Good morning/afternoon/evening to you all! I don’t blog a whole lot with the exception of Sat Spanks--does that count? I’m not certain--so I was a little apprehensive about signing up for the blogging challenge. I keep a journal and those things are very private to me; blogging has always felt like a way for everyone to sneak
into your private life. So, for the next twenty-six days I’m giving myself two challenges. One, to blog for the next twenty-six days, and two, to blog about personal things. Here’s my first attempt. I hope we all get to know each other better in these next few weeks!

Attitude

Something the spanking community focuses on quite a bit is attitude. Our feisty heroines wouldn’t be the same without it! Though it might be hard to believe, I know a bit about
attitude myself ;) (My husband could talk your ear off on the subject!) and I’ve recently learned something: I like to find my limits, not just with Jim, but everyone.

Yes, everyone. From my best girl friend to the guy who comes over once and a while for a video game night, I like to watch people and test them to see what they’re made of; and subsequently, how far I can go. If that doesn’t describe a brat, I don’t know what does. Though honestly, I never realized I did it, it’s completely in retrospect.

Sometimes I do it to find limits and sometimes I do it to test them. Sometimes I do it for no other reason than the fact that I could use a good spanking. Honestly, there are moments I’m surprised at my own ability to brat. I sure give myself some inspiration for stories, that’s for sure!

A few weeks back I was in trouble for attitude --which usually expresses itself in the form of witty repartee. We’d just gotten discussing it and I guess he must not have done a thorough enough job, because I was annoyed, convinced that I’d done nothing wrong. He said, “Go downstairs now I’ll be down for dinner in a minute.”

“I’ll just be coming right back up, so that’s irrelevant to me.” What can I say, I don’t know when to quit. Seemed like the right answer at the time. ;)
Hope to see you all tomorrow!

I never know when to quit either, I can be super sassy when needed. ;) Thanks for sharing Dinah!

Hallo Dinah,

Good for you to take on two challenges at once! Like you're not busy enough already. Your post was so recognizable, I had to laugh. It could have happened in this house as well!

Good luck on the dares ahead of you!

Ah, but without the attitude and without the inner brat, you wouldn't be able to write the wonderful books you do!

Sometimes I wish I could just shut-up, but then how boring would we be without a little attitude. It's both a curse and a blessing, isn't it?

Ha! I do the worst kind of 'testing' on first dates. It wasn't until I truly got to know myself as a submissive that I realized what I was doing - testing the guy to see if he was strong and intelligent enough to handle me.

I also get competitive along with my testing.

My biggest memory was going mini-golfing with a guy I had gotten to now online. Now, I can't hit the damned ball to save my life because of my eyesight. On that date? Out of 18 holes, I got 15 holes in one. Err, yeah. I never never heard from him again. *smirk*

Loved it, and darn you for hitting the nail on the head! My biggest issue would be attitude

Why doesn't everyone appreciate our "witty repartee" the way we think they should?

Ah...attitude...an excellent reminder.

Thanks for taking on the A to Z challenge. Looking forward to more posts.

I like your attitude! If you didn't have it, your characters would not be so spunky!

I think there's nothing wrong with sassy! Wouldn't it be dull if we always listened and did as we were told???

Excellent post. You really have set yourself a challenge there. I really admire people who can share a bit of their inner selves online.

I'll admit I am SO conflicted about bratting. On the one hand, it can get out of hand if the dom doesn't set boundaries, and can sometimes slip into the "do me" sub/topping from the bottom mindset. BUT on the other hand, it's fun, shows spirit (which I LOVE), and affords many wonderful excuses/opportunities for discipline and punishment.

Bottom line: if it works for you and your relationship, then it's a good thing:)

Thanks for being so open and honest. This should be a fun, eye-opening month for all of us!

I'm always making my hubby's eye twitch with my attitude. Then when he gets on me, I top it off by rolling my eyes at him and that really drives him crazy. I need to learn to stop while I'm ahead, but oh no not me, I just keep going:) GREAT post Dinah:)))

I'm famous for my attitude! I always get an attitude for everything. It doesn't get me in trouble but I'm often asked by my husband why I always have to get an attitude. I can't help it. It's just me. Great subject for the "A" post.
