Day 3: The Letter C

OK, guys, this one is going to be a tad bit long today, but bear with me! I originally planned to share a homemade dip recipe that is AMAZING but had an experience yesterday that fits in with C. So, without further ado, C is for car accident.

Yes, you guessed it. I have mentioned before that I have a phobia of driving. Odd, perhaps, but it is what it is. And it just might have something to do with the fact that since I was nine years old my dad would come tell me anytime there was a mention of a teenager in a car accident and read it to me from the paper. Not saying that it caused it, but it’s certainly possible.

Anyway, as a mother to two kids, I’ve had to deal the best I can. They have places to go and people to see, so that means I have to get behind the wheel and conquer fear every single day. That’s what I was doing, innocently minding my own business, conquering fear and all that, when, AT A STOP SIGN, I felt myself get jolted from behind. Now, my car is tiny. If I could get one smaller, I would do it, tiny cars are what I’m into. Again, see driving phobia.
:)

So, when I got rear ended by an SUV, it pushed my car forward a bit, even though the hit wasn’t that hard.

“Jackass!” I exclaimed loudly.

“What’s a jackass, Mama?” my five-year-old asked innocently.
Damn.

So, we’re fine, the car is fine--my husband was a bit ticked at me because I let the guy drive off when I realized there was no damage. Before the lectures commence, I had no
idea what I was supposed to do. I have never, ever been in an accident.

AND because I don’t want to deprive you of my wonderful recipe, see below!

This is officially the most awesome chip dip in the world and it’s dessert! How’s
that for new and different! Try it, you’ll be soooo glad you did. I never ever serve this without getting requests from the recipe. Served it last week and it was gone in sixty seconds! Hee hee!

What you will need:
Strawberries
Cool Whip Frosting (I use vanilla; it can be found in your freezer aisle, next to the--what else?--cool whip)
Package jello (You can use any flavor. I use strawberry)
Stacy’s cinnamon sugar chips

Half your strawberries
Stir in 2 tsps jello mix into the frosting
Stir in strawberries and serve with chips!

So amazingly good and takes five minutes or less! Also, makes the strawberries taste so ripe and delicious! And it’s got fruit in it, so it has to be healthy, right? ;)

Also, one last thing: When my book, "The Marriage Pact" posts on Amazon I'll update with the links! <3 Thanks

That's about what happened with me when I got into an accident some 18 years back. Police were summoned, but no report was filed because the father of the young man who rearended me begged us not to let insurance get involved. The bumper was crushed in, but he was willing to pay cash out of his pocket. I thought I was fine, but as it turned out, I had injuries I couldn't feel until after the shock wore off. We were trying to be nice and felt bad for the poor guy. But, life is live and learn. Kudos to you for making the attempt every single day to conquer your fears!

I have a teeny tiny car and I haven't hit anything with it yet although my husband just reminds me now and again not to drive in the city! Now my bike which I use more often...my daughter looks at it the other day and goes 'mom, how many times have you crashed with your bike?' More than once...It's entertaining for others I think... Glad you're ok and thanks for the recipe.

hugsss. I have my own issues around driving- not sure I'd label it a full blown phobia, but I'm definitely uncomfortable driving. A specific issue in my life is that I have to drive about 2 hours to be anywhere I really feel comfortable- I hate the area I life in. I'm most content being a passenger. The recipe looks fun :) But yeah, I wouldn't know what to do in a car accident either

That sucks. It's hard enough driving with a phobia without a jackass making it worse. I'm glad there was no harm done.

Glad you're all okay. Sounds traumatic in several ways. But, I love the recipe and I might have to give it a try.

Just checking every day see if you post, girl! :-) OK, here is what you do if some lunatic hits you again. You have one of those pretty phones right? Make pictures. Make pictures of your car, of his car (it's a he), make pictures of his bloody face, make pictures of his number plate, make pictures how you guys and up where you are at the road.

Girl, it is a terrifying experience. Really. I still hear BUMP in my ears sometimes when I have to brake real hard, And my last accident was over 25 years ago. (OK, I'm not saying that in the first ten years I got my licence I drove seven cars total loss and three badly damaged. But I was not always my fault!)

Glad you are okay.

I was rear ended, not too long ago, the car hit me so hard that I ran into the car in front of me at the stoplight. The car in front of me just happened to be a police officer in an unmarked car. And I was driving a rental. The police had to be called because he was a police officer. Probably took about an hour or so for the whole thing to be processed. Grrr
Recipe looks yummy and with strawberries in season, I can't wait to try your recipe

First off, I'm so glad you and your little ones are ok:) My mom also has a phobia of driving. She does it but is very nervous the whole time. I drive a Dodge Ram 1500 pickup with a 6" lift on it. It's very tall and big. I was in a car accident when I was 17 and hurt pretty bad, so I like BIG :) the bigger the better for me:) I copied and pasted the recipe... YUMMY! We are having a party this coming up weekend so I'm gonna make it:) Thanks for sharing:)
