To continue our story, in an effort to get her ex-husband out of her mind, Mona tries online dating with disastrous results. The guy she agrees to meet is six years her junior, and not at all what she expected. Worse yet, while at Starbucks they run into Colby, who has plenty say about her date. Mona accuses him of being rude, and below is our snippet:

He glared at me, and I couldn’t help but jump when he smacked his hand down on our table. I wondered if he wished he was smacking it against my bottom instead. “I’m not sorry for anything. Except maybe the fact that you’re having such a hard time finding someone your own age to date.”

“He’s twenty-one--almost twenty-one!” I hissed through my teeth. “He’s not that young!”

“Of course not,” he retorted, but the way he said it made my nostrils flare.

“I don’t care what you think! What I do isn’t any of your concern, I don’t owe you any explanations.”

“Then stop explaining,” he shot back, nonplused. With a smirk, he nodded at me and then headed for the door, unaffected by anything I’d had to say, per usual.

Mona may think he's unaffected, but I'm not convinced. What about you?
Please let me know what you think of the excerpt and be sure to look for "Mona's Second Chance" coming to Blushing in September!

Yes, I definitely feel Colby is more affected than he is letting on. These two have so many sparks flowing between them, it's going to be interesting to see when and where they finally combust. Love the snippet, Dinah.

What a great snippet! Pretty cover, too. I like the energy between them.

There's nothing like running into your ex when you're with a date you're not too impressed with either. I'm looking forward to their next encounter.

Caught by an ex, whilst sipping coffee with a younger man; I know that he wants to swat more than the table. Definitely a nice build-up to the spanking we know is coming.

What fun. Colby is one cool customer, which of course, is so aggravating but also sexy.

I'm licking my lips waiting for this one to come out.
I love that Colby is playing it cool. Making her think he's unaffected by seeing her with a younger man.

Great Snippet, Dinah.

Curious about this couple getting together. You're making it difficult for them! Well done.

I am so looking forward to the reconciliation. Make up sex and spankings are the best! When does this come out? I'm biting my nails.

:D She's protesting way too much :D I love Colby in this scene. Although I wanna argue with him on age difference- I've always gone older than me. my Master is 43 to my 35

They both definitely protest too much, which is bound to result in some electricity later. By the look of it, this has the makings of a really interesting story. Look forward to see how they get past this!

That has to be awkward, running into an ex while you’re on a date with a younger man. Of course he wants to slap something and I bet it’s not the table :)
